Jesse Lanier Cooper
Jesse Lanier Cooper, was born in 1987 to parents Oscar winner Chris Cooper and his wife, “Sopranos” co-star Marianne Leone. Three months premature, Jesse developed a cerebral hemhorrage and severe cerebral palsy.
 
The Coopers eventually settled in Kingston, Massachusetts, where they became strong advocates for exceptional children. Jesse was eventually mainstreamed into Silver Lake Regional High School, where he became an honor student, communicated with a computer, and learned to ride horses. Jesse also enjoyed water sports that he learned at a camp for disabled children despite the fact he used a wheelchair.
 
On January 3 , 2005 , at the age of 17, Jesse Cooper died from complications of cerebral palsy. A memorial fund was set up in his name, the Jesse Cooper Foundation.
